The Justice Department Attorney investigating the IRS Targeting Scandal failed to appear before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, but South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy didn't let the hearing go to waste.
Watch Gowdy bring the pain. The Congressman directly questions President Obama's statement that "not a smidgen" of corruption occurred by the IRS. How can he square that, he asks, when IRS official Lois Lerner sat before the Committee and invoked the 5th Amendment, which protects those accused against self-incrimination for criminal activities?
Additionally, how can a sitting President, he asks, prejudge an ongoing investigation? From giving responsibility of the investigation to an Obama donor, to failing to interview any of the targeted victims, what about this whole affair is not corrupt?
