Deval Patrick, the Democratic governor from Massachusetts, was interviewed this morning by CNN's Candy Crowley this morning and established himself as the bravest member of his party. Patrick criticized the assumption of Hillary Clinton's inevitable presidency. When the CNN host asked if the election will be "Hillary all the way," Patrick didn't
tow the line agree:
Well, I don't know.
I guess I'm... I guess I'm worried a little bit...
She's an enormously capable, uh, candidate and uh, and leader. But I do worry about the inevitability thing.
Because I think, I think it's off-putting to the average, um, the average voter.
And I think that was an element, uh, of, uh, of her campaign the last time and I would just, uh, you know, I, it's, as a, as an enthusiastic Democrat I just hope that the people around her pay attention, um, to that this time around.
Patrick has been discussed as a potential Presidential candidate, even recently by the President himself, and this may be the first sign of a line of demarcation being drawn. On the other hand, as it is universally agreed that Hillary would be the best thing ever to happen to this country, he could be attempting to protect himself a bit with the strong emphasis on "enormously capable."
What do you think of the inevitability of an enormously capable Hillary being our next President?
