Yazidi women who have been captured by ISIS are being used as "sex slaves," but a more appropriate description of what's being done to them is brutal inhuman torture.
The torture is so horrific that some women are killing themselves rather than wait for rescue, and one woman even called a friend embedded with the Peshmerga to ask that their brothel be bombed.
A Kurdish activist and friend of the man who received the call tells BBC News that the woman begged:
If you know where we are, please bomb us. There is no life after this. I'm going to kill myself anyway. Others have killed themselves this morning. I've been raped 30 times and it's not even lunch time. I can't go to the toilet. Please bomb us.
The activist, Karam, related that the men "just burst out crying" after the call "because they felt so helpless."
Last week, IJReview.com reported on a recreated sex slave auction in London, the subject of the BBC interview below, and had a chance to talk with one of the performance artists. The call from the poor woman who asks for her brothel to be bombed is also mentioned:
It's not just Yazidi women who are targeted - any non-Islamic woman in ISIS-controlled areas is at risk. The newest issue of ISIS' magazine, Dabiq, declares:
"Enslaving the families of the kuffār [non-believers] and taking their women as concubines is a firmly established aspect of the Sharia that if one were to deny or mock, he would be denying or mocking the verses of the Qur'an... and thereby apostatizing from Islam."
What these women are going through is unimaginable. They are crying out to be saved even if it results in their death. Will the world listen?
