In order to be recognized as a nation's 'most shameless' mother, you really have to work at it.

At least that seems to be the case for Cheryl Prudham, who's earned the title of 'Britain's Most Shameless Mum' in an upcoming documentary for the United Kingdom's Channel 5.

The mother of 12 has become infamous across the Atlantic for a simple reason: she flaunts the fact that her annual government benefits amount to 40,000 pounds, which comes to about $62,000 in the U.S.

The 33-year-old Prudham, who doesn't have a job, said that she spends almost £22,000 ($34,000) on Christmas and birthday presents alone for her children each year. These gifts reportedly include iPads, gold bracelets and a gas-powered four-wheeler for her 6-year-old.

Her husband, Robert, earns about £250 ($386) a week delivering pizzas.

Responding to claims that she's abusing the welfare system, the mother says:

“I'm just taking what government gives me. I've not had children to get money. If that money is offered to me I'm not going to say no.”

Prior to the documentary, Prudham incited controversy in 2014 when photos appeared to capture the mom smoking while on a 'taxpayer-funded' holiday on the Spanish island of Menorca. She was pregnant with twins at the time:

She again made headlines in May of 2015 after demanding a C-section for the birth of her 12th child - a procedure which was also paid for by the government - reportedly saying that she's “too posh to push.”

Following the media attention she's received, Prudham refers to herself as a 'reluctant celebrity' in the same vein as Princess Diana, whom she says also “just wanted to be left alone.”

The documentary “Benefits: Britain's Most Shameless Mum” is scheduled to air October 19.
