America Collectively Groans After Hollywood Actress Says the Only Candidate Who Can Fight ISIS Is...
Award-winning actress Salma Hayek hasn't been shy about supporting Hillary Clinton in the upcoming election.
She even helped launch “Latinos For Hillary" this past September:
The Mexican-born actress and producer previously attacked Donald Trump, telling the Los Angeles Times his tactics for immigration were based on “self-promotion”:
“What's sad is how easily people are manipulated. I'm not insulted because I cannot be insulted by stupidity. Everybody's entitled to have uninformed opinions. Everybody's entitled to be dumb. But I'm not dumb, so I see through the manipulation. We have something to learn from this. That is that the educated people or the people with great human values have to wake up, because they are under the illusion that most of this country is like them and sometimes they don't even go to vote.”
And she was one of many to attack Trump after he referred to the 9/11 terrorist attacks as “7-11”:
When it comes to terrorism and defeating ISIS, Hayek tells the Daily Beast Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who's respected by other countries and can get the job done
“Maybe it’s not as exciting, but it’s very dangerous right now to put the American army in the hands of the wrong people. Either one extreme, or the other. These are not times to be messing around. I live in Europe and I tell you, it’s very, very dangerous.
The only person that is truly respected by all the other countries is her. When they ask all of these people, ‘How would you deal with ISIS,’ I listen to them respond, and I tremble — except for when she talks.”
Hayek also believes Clinton would be a much better option than any other, simply because she's a woman:
“Men are too passionate and their egos are too stubborn. She is levelheaded. She is kind. She has a heart. She’s human. She’s smart. But nothing brings her down. They’ve been trying to put this woman down for 30 years. She’s indestructible. She gets up with grace. And she gets things done with grace — not bullying."
While Hayek believes that Hillary's foreign policy credentials and experience make her fit to be Commander-in-Chief against ISIS, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani thinks she's part of why ISIS is around in the first place:
“By being part of an administration withdrew from Iraq. By being part of an administration that let (Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki) run Iraq into the ground, so you forced the Shiites to make a choice. By not intervening in Syria at the proper time. By being part of an administration that drew twelve lines in the sand and made a joke out of it.”
Hayek once lived in Paris, a city still rattled by ISIS's terror attack last November. She currently lives in London with her husband and daughter.
