FBI Director James Comey recently wrote a letter to Congress, informing them of emails found on Anthony Weiner's laptop that could possibly be relevant to the earlier investigation on Secretary Hillary Clinton.
Weiner had recently separated from his wife Huma Abedin, the chief of staff for Clinton. Now his personal sexting scandal, under investigation by the FBI, was wrapped up in Clinton's email troubles.
Soon, a conspiracy theory began to circulate about Weiner and Abedin keeping the emails in a folder called “life insurance.”
While this conspiracy theory has yet to be proven, the damage to the Clinton campaign has been done.
In July, Comey had stressed that while Clinton had been “extremely careless” with classified information, there was not enough wrongdoing to charge her. The reopening of the case puts more fuel on the fire for Clinton in a Presidential race which seems to be tightening.
But there is one question that some have failed to ask - why did Anthony Weiner have those emails on his laptop in the first place?
According to Politico,
Abedin.... would often forward emails to her Yahoo email, Clintonmail.com accounts, or even another account that she’d previously used to support the campaign activities of her husband, Anthony Weiner.
Maybe it was a clumsy mistake. Maybe it was “life insurance.” 'Maybe,' a political conspiracy original web series by Independent Journal Review, took up the case.
