The United States will cease to exist as we know it if Donald Trump is allowed to enter the White House, according to former TV host Keith Olbermann.
In a somewhat stunning video released by GQ Magazine, Olbermann aggressively argues that there is currently a “Russian coup” underway in the United States.
“We are at war with Russia,” Olbermann begins. “Or perhaps more correctly, we have lost a war with Russia without a battle. We are no longer a sovereign nation, we are no longer a democracy, we are no longer a free people, we are the victims of a bloodless coup.”

Olbermann goes on to call on the U.S. to take “desperate measures” to investigate suspected efforts by Russia to influence the U.S. election and prevent Trump from becoming president. The liberal pundit apparently believes the only reason Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the election is because Russia wanted him to win.
“The attorney general must immediately appoint a special prosecutor to investigate what Donald Trump knew and when he knew it, and what, if any, collusive links exist now or existed earlier between the Russian Federation and the Republican National Committee,” he says in the video.
But Olbermann really hits his stride in the last minute of the diatribe:
“Permitting Donald Trump to assume the office of president reduces the chance that we will have any future elections! The nation and all of our freedoms hang by a thread, and the military apparatus of this country is about to be handed over to scum! Who are beholden to scum! Russian scum! As things are today, January 20th will not be an inauguration, but rather the end of the United States as an independent country. It will not be a peaceful change of power. It will be a usurpation — and the usurper has no validity, no credibility, and no authority under the Constitution.”
Olbermann's anger stems from a leaked CIA assessment that Russian cyber attacks were carried out with the intention of helping Trump get elected. However, other intelligence agencies, including the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, reportedly said there is not enough “conclusive evidence” to prove it. Reuters reported:
The overseers of the U.S. intelligence community have not embraced a CIA assessment that Russian cyber attacks were aimed at helping Republican President-elect Donald Trump win the 2016 election, three American officials said on Monday.
While the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) does not dispute the CIA’s analysis of Russian hacking operations, it has not endorsed their assessment because of a lack of conclusive evidence that Moscow intended to boost Trump over Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, said the officials, who declined to be named.
Olbermann ended his furious rant with an equally strange sign-off: “Resist. Peace.”
