After planning a surprise engagement for Linda Phan, his longtime girlfriend of six years, Drew Scott of HGTV's “Property Brothers” is now officially engaged.

The tweet reads:

“Every day for the past 6 years my love for Linda has grown stronger & last night I became the luckiest man in the world when she said #ido”

Scott tells People that it took a lot of work to keep the engagement— which included a trip to New York to record a cover of Train's “Marry Me”— a secret from Phan :

“I’ve never met another woman like her and once you do, you want to be with her forever... I’ve had to be as stealthy as a ninja to pull this off."

Since the two also work together, as Phan is Creative Director of Scott Brothers Entertainment, it was extra hard to make sure Phan didn't suspect anything.

The night of the engagement, another member of the HGTV family, Chip Gaines of “Fixer Upper,” sent out a message on Twitter to Scott saying, “Congratulations @MrDrewScott! What an exciting time. @joannagaines and I are wishing nothing but the very best for you and Linda.”

Scott replied to the message, giving Chip his wife, Joanna, one of the best compliments you can give a couple...

The tweet reads:

“@chippergaines Thanks Chip! You guys lead as a great example of loving family we'll strive to have one day...”

While there has been much controversy surrounding Chip and Joanna Gaines's faith, there are two things you can't deny— their love for each other and their devotion to their four children.

Congratulations, Drew and Linda!
