Hours after Fox News officially parted ways with political commentator Bill O'Reilly, new reports indicate just how much the former host stands to make from his sudden departure.

According to CNN, O'Reilly stands to earn “tens of millions of dollars on his way out of Fox News.”

As a 21-year veteran of the network, O'Reilly was reportedly set to earn $25 million per year on a contract that was recently extended through the 2020 presidential election — a total of $100 million over the full length of the contract.

Former Fox News chief Roger Ailes — who, like O'Reilly, also left the network amid sexual harassment allegations — was reportedly given the full worth of his contract when he left Fox.

Due to certain “outs” in his recently re-negotiated contract, however, it's believed that O'Reilly will not receive the full $100 million that he would have earned over the next several years.

As a result of confidentiality agreements, neither Fox nor O'Reilly representatives could even confirm the existence of a payout, though one source told CNN that it was simply “a staggering amount.”
