After a meeting with Argentine President Mauricio Macri and his wife, Juliana Awada, President Trump escorted the couple out of the White House.
But it's what Trump did to the Marine at his post outside the door that has people talking.
According to the Daily Mail:
The Marine had just opened the limousine doors as Argentine President Mauricio Macri and his wife Juliana Awada, said goodbye to the White House on Thursday.
Trump leans in for the embrace as his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, looks on with a smile.
Here is a picture of the funny/awkward moment.
There were some opinions about the back pat.
The Marine didn't react to Trump's gesture, and there's a good reason for that. According to MARSOC operator Sean Conner, whose brother served at Camp David on the presidential detail:
“You're trained to stand for more than six hours, and you don't break discipline.”
The Marines are part of the Presidential Security Force Detachment.
They made headlines in the Obama years, too.
Don't ever expect these Marines to break character, either. Check out the video below to learn more about Marines who stand guard at the White House.
