The Democratic National Committee is wasting no time cashing in on the latest controversies to hit President Donald Trump and the Republicans in Congress.

According to The Hill, the DNC is planning what is being called a “Resistance Summer” across the country in order to push back against the losses faced in the 2016 election.

Anxious to capitalize on the “resistance” that has already manifested itself across the country, the Democrats are reportedly prepared to dump $1 million into the movement, according to Fox News.

DNC Chairman Tom Perez said in a statement:

“There has been an explosion of activism and energy after the election of Donald Trump, and we need to turn this moment into a movement. As the Democratic Party, it is our role to support this activism and energy, and convert it into electoral wins up-and-down the ballot by making sure state parties have the tools and resources they need to succeed.”

Perez has been making waves these past few months for his enthusiastic and often profanity-laden speeches to crowds around the country.

For example, his use of the “s” word has even stretched to the proposed Republican budget back in April:

“They call it a skinny budget, I call it a sh*tty budget.”

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), Deputy Chairman of the DNC, echoed Perez's statement to The Hill on the “Resistance Summer”:

“We have never had a better opportunity to win up-and-down the ballot. But showing up is not enough. We have to organize, knock on doors, and motivate voters to the polls. Only then can we deliver what hardworking American families need.”

Democrats face a grave time in their political history. Republicans control the White House, Congress, and hold 33 governorships, not to mention a domination of state legislature.
