To perhaps no one's surprise who's paid any attention at all to past controversies swirling around Rosie O'Donnell, the comedian and “The View” co-host waded into yet another one this week, when she called accused NSA leaker Reality Winner a “brave young patriot”:
It got worse, in the eyes of some — O'Donnell also made a contribution to Winner's GoFundMe page: Reality Winner & Family-RELIEF FUND!:
The same “brave young patriot” who wanted to “burn the White House down.” Oh, and under the pseudonym “Sara Winners,” the same woman who tweeted that she (and “many Americans”) will stand by Iran if the “Tangerine in Chief” declares war on the Islamist nation:
Among those angered, or perhaps disgusted, by O'Donnell, was Fox News host Dana Perino, who tweeted that the “comedian” risks ruining young women's lives:
O'Donnell took issue with Perino's “egging on” accusation, and fired back with the tried-and-true “I never liked her, anyway” blast:
As reported by the New York Times, the 25-year-old intelligence contractor was arrested last week for allegedly leaking a classified report about Russia’s interference in the 2016 election to the media. She was subsequently charged with violating the Espionage Act. On Friday, she was denied bail.
“She was very scared,” her mom told CNN's Anderson Cooper. “She was not expecting any of this.”
Meanwhile, Rosie O'Donnell has the “brave young patriot's” back.
