On Wednesday, President Donald Trump conveyed that he could only do so much to press Russian president Vladimir Putin on whether his government meddled in the 2016 election.

“What do you do? End up in a fistfight with somebody, OK?” Trump asked reporters after explaining that Putin twice denied interfering in the 2016 presidential election. According to CNN, a reporter repeatedly asked Trump about that part of Trump and Putin's interaction at the G20 summit.

“I told (Putin). I said, look, we can't — we can't have — now, he said absolutely not twice,” Trump said in an off-the-record comment later made public.

Earlier in July, Putin reportedly said at a news conference that Trump asked him “a lot of questions” regarding 2016 election meddling. “I answered as many as I could answer. I think he took it into consideration and agreed with it. But you should ask him what his opinion is on that,” Putin said.

Russian and U.S. officials initially differed on how the Putin and Trump exchange unfolded. As Independent Journal Review previously reported, Russian ambassador Sergei Lavrov said last week that Trump accepted Putin's assurances that he didn't interfere with the 2016 election. CNN's Jim Acosta, however, later reported that a senior U.S. official said that was not the case.

melissaWhen my daughter was in her teens,  she left home to go hang out with a friend while I was at work.  Later after knowing the truth,  I asked her if she left home without permission , she also said NO twice.
IntegrityImportantIt's been posted before but it bears repeating: all nations with large enough governments meddle in elections. Case in point: Obama literally interferred in the last Israeli election in a deliberate attempt to oust the leader there because Obama did not like nor get along with him. This is a fact our dem dum-dums keep ignoring. It is one thing to deal with election intereference as a issue pertaining to all elections worldwide and it is something else entirely to do so as one's only party strategy and to do so to the point it could be damaging to international relations with a foreigh power. These are trying times and we need to work with other world leaders. It seems all the MSM and the dems care about is Russia, Russia, Russia and Putin, Putin, Putin. So POTUS is supposed to waste a meeting with a world leader whimping and whining like dems over our last election--the one hillary lost all by herself? What about ISIS? Syria? North Korea? China's relationship with North Korea? Iran? Nuclear weapons? Hammering out a new, more workable environmental agreement? Immigration from Syria? And so on and so on . . .
@OtisamsoniteA good round of fisticuffs is often entertaining. I prefer bare-knuckle to that wussy 'glove' boxing.
