In a slew of Monday morning tweets, President Donald Trump castigated the mainstream media and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) for, among other things, bringing public attention to suspicions of collusion between his 2016 campaign and Russia.

Trump laid into the “Fake News” and singled out the “failing” New York Times, which he said was “totally inept. The ”Fake News" networks, Trump argued, wrongly distorted the public's perception of his base's strength and cohesion:

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who appeared on CNN's “New Day” on Monday, drew Trump's ire, as well. According to Trump, Blumenthal was a “phony Vietnam con artist” who “defrauded voters” at an unprecedented level:

Blumenthal appeared to respond on Twitter, deriding the president's bullying and further pressing on the Russia investigation:

Trump also let his followers know that he would be attending meetings in New York after “working hard from New Jersey”:

According to the Associated Press, the White House forced employees and residents out to replace its heating and cooling system.
