Only a day after actor Ben Affleck condemned producer Harvey Weinstein's alleged sexual misconduct, he apologized for groping a former MTV host in 2003:

Affleck's apology came just after Hilarie Burton, a former host of MTV's “Total Request Live,” acknowledged on Tuesday that Affleck “grabbed” her while appearing on her show:

In a video posted to YouTube, Burton says that Affleck “tweaked” her breast. Affleck appeared to reach around to Burton's left side during that episode of “TRL,” but it's unclear from the camera angle where his fingers were:

Before Burton's tweet on Tuesday, actress Rose McGowan ripped into Affleck and seemed to imply that he knew about Weinstein's alleged unwanted sexual advances toward women in previous years.

She quoted Affleck saying that he told “him to stop doing that.” Although McGowan didn't specifically mention Weinstein in that tweet, it's likely she was referring to him given her tweet storm that day surrounding the Hollywood producer.

McGowan accused Affleck of lying after he released a statement lamenting the nature of allegations lodged against Weinstein:

“We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers, and daughters,” Affleck said in his Tuesday tweet.
