Former AG Eric Holder

In a scathing rebuke of President Donald Trump's tweet about the FBI, former Attorney General Eric Holder suggested that while that particular agency had integrity, the White House didn't:

“You’ll find integrity and honesty at FBI headquarters and not at 1600 Penn Ave right now,” Holder tweeted in reference to the White House's address. Holder defended the FBI, arguing that, contrary to what Trump said, its reputation wasn't “in tatters.”

Holder referred to a Sunday tweet from Trump who portrayed former FBI Director James Comey as ruining the agency:

Following Trump's tweet, Comey defended the FBI as “honest” and “strong”:

Trump's tweet followed special counsel Robert Mueller's charge that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn lied to the FBI, something Flynn pleaded guilty to on Friday. The Justice Department, Trump suggested, “destroyed” Flynn's life after he lied, but let former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton off the hook:

His Sunday attack wasn't Holder's first on Trump. In October, Holder told Trump to “stop the damn lying” after he appeared to claim former President Barack Obama didn't call families of fallen soldiers.
