White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is set to hold a press briefing on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. ET.
Sanders will likely field questions regarding growing violence in the Middle East following President Donald Trump's controversial announcement that the U.S. will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and will move the U.S. embassy there from Tel Aviv.
Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have both framed the decision as a step toward peace. Other world leaders — including those of several Arab nations — warned it could have disastrous consequences for regional stability.
Following Trump's announcement on Wednesday, the U.S. Department of State issued “worldwide caution” to American citizens abroad to take care in the wake of outbreaks of violence.
Sanders may also face questions regarding Sen. Al Franken's resignation from the Senate following mounting sexual misconduct allegations and how it relates to Trump's endorsement of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore despite similar sexual misconduct allegations.
