You’ve read that Donald Trump has been struggling in the polls, with Hillary Clinton recovering from late July issues to soar back to a 6.5% lead in the Real Clear Politics average of presidential polls.
But it can get even worse for the GOP nominee.
A new Washington Post/ABC News polls is out, and it shows similar numbers:
- Hillary Clinton: 45%
- Donald Trump: 37%
- Gary Johnson: 8%
- Jill Stein: 4%
— ABC News (@ABC) August 7, 2016
Buried in that poll is a concerning nugget for Republicans. On seven different issues, Clinton is more trusted than Trump.
An international crisis
Perplexingly, the poll also found that Melania Trump is viewed mostly unfavorably by Americans, while Bill Clinton is viewed mostly favorably.
The WaPo/ABC poll was conducted among 815 registered voters from August 1-4, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5%.
