President Donald Trump hosted the Clemson Tigers football team at the White House and added his very own “all-American” touch to the catering menu.
Due to the government shutdown, the White House chefs are currently furloughed, so Trump chose to pay for a fast food buffet to congratulate the team on their championship win.
Well-known fast food chains McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King were all served on silver platters and were accented with candelabras.

Trump seemed in high spirits during the event, joking about the choice of food.
“I think that would be their favorite food, so we’ll see what happens,” Trump said.
He later tweeted that the team finished the food in one hour, saying that they consumed over 1,000 burgers.
Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders etc. Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!

As IJR previously reported, sports teams in the past have declined to visit the White House due to differences in beliefs. However, Clemson seemed to enjoy their time meeting with the president.
