Harvey Weinstein’s Wife Is Reportedly Leaning on Huma Abedin for Support in Wake of Separation Announcement

This past week, Harvey Weinstein’s wife, Georgina Chapman, announced she would be leaving her husband amid the damning sexual assault allegations surrounding him.

In an exclusive statement to People, Chapman stated:

My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions.

Following the statement, new reports from Page Six note that since announcing the separation, Chapman reached out to Huma Abedin, the soon-to-be ex-wife of convicted sex offender Anthony Weiner, for support.

Abedin, unfortunately, is no stranger to a sex scandal, since the father of her child has faced scrutiny for years over deviated sexual acts.

The source notes that Chapman and Abedin have known one another for some time after meeting at numerous fundraiser events, where Weinstein donated money to the Clinton campaign. Abedin was present because she was Clinton’s right-hand woman.

The source noted:

“One of the people Georgina has reached out to is Huma, who has been through this kind of scandal and media storm, and survived with her dignity intact. They are both mothers, they have both been in a situation where their husbands turned out to be a different person than the man they thought they knew.”

That said, it is unclear what advice, if any, was actually given by Abedin in light of the messy situation.

Since Weinstein found out his wife was leaving him and was fired from the company he helped create, the Hollywood film producer left for sexual addiction rehab Wednesday night.
