After Election Machines in Georgia & Texas Found ‘Flipping’ Votes, One County Takes Real Action

A flurry of reports have come in all over social media from Texas and Georgia, claiming voting machines have been switching votes from Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton.

Local officials in those states are denying any mechanical rigging and say it’s due to human error, but not all voters are buying it.

On Monday, early voting began in Texas and Georgia, and almost immediately complaints came flooding in.

It started with Randall County, Texas, resident Lisa Houlette, who wrote about what happened to her in a Facebook post:

Gary and I went to early vote today…I voted a straight Republicanticket and as I scrolled to submit my ballot I…

Then, Arlington resident Shandy Clarke wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post that a family member had the same problem when they too went to vote Republican on Monday.

That’s when Randall County’s Election Administrator Shannon Lackey responded to the accusations — telling that such claims are made in every election cycle and that it’s human error, not the voting machines, that are the culprit:

“Our machines are state and federally certified. We do three logic and accuracy tests, which were done before military voting started in September.”

Backing Lackey up was Judge Nancy Tanner of nearby Potter County, who released a statement Tuesday saying that there’s nothing wrong with the machines:

“They do not flip your vote. They do not flip parties. Humans do that.”

Despite that, Tanner cited “one incident in Randall County where a voter voted straight ticket and when they hit the vote button, it flipped parties,” but that afterwards the machine was inspected and found to be in perfect working order.

Meanwhile, while complaints continued to come in from multiple counties across the Lone Star state, a voting machine in Bryan County, Georgia, that seemed to be “flipping” some voters’ entries has been decommissioned following a report on the issue by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution made to state elections officials.

A voter who declined to be named contacted the AJC after he said it took three tries on a machine on Tuesday before it correctly recorded Hillary Clinton, the choice he had intended to make.

On the first two tries, he claimed, he initially selected Clinton, but the touchscreen displayed that he had chosen Trump, so he cancelled and tried again. Only on the third try did it correctly display he had selected Clinton. The anonymous voter also said that his wife had the same experience on the same machine.

While the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office has started an investigation into the matter, state officials are calling it an isolated incident. David B. Dove, chief of staff of the office, told the AJC:

“We are confident that machines are not ‘flipping’ voters. It appears with this particular machine that the county did not properly conduct logic and accuracy testing on this unit. That test ensures the geographic areas on the unit’s screen corresponds to the underlying ballot format. This testing is required by state law.”

Now, some local officials are taking concrete action to be absolutely sure no voter fraud is occurring in their counties.

Breitbart reports that Chambers County, Texas, election officials have decided to remove all electronic voting machines in use during early voting, until a software update is completed that will fix issues straight-ticket voters have been experiencing.

Chambers County Clerk Heather Hawthorne spoke to Breitbart on Tuesday, confirming that all electronic early voting has ceased until the completion of the software update on the machines that apparently have been “omitting one race” whenever a straight ticket is chosen for either major party.

Hawthorne said that she expected the issues to be completely solved by end of business on Tuesday. She also said that before the machines were pulled, voters who were casting ballots were instructed by on-site supervisors to double-check their ballots to err on the side of caution.
