Huma Abedin Announces Separation from Anthony Weiner After His Latest Sexting Scandal

After the latest Anthony Weiner sexting scandal, his wife has announced a separation in their relationship.

The New York Post published a story Sunday night revealing that Weiner had a sexting relationship with an unnamed 40-year-old divorcee, including a photo Weiner sent that included his son in the same bed.

The revelation, which included that Weiner was still using his Twitter account to correspond with women online, culminated with Weiner deleting his Twitter:

In 2011, Weiner resigned his office as a US Congressman after he tweeted a lewd photo that was meant to be a private image. While Weiner initially denied blame for the photo, which was published by Andrew Breitbart, he eventually caved and left Congress.

He would enter therapy, and later be the figure of a documentary, “Weiner,” the story of his race for mayor of New York City.

But it appears that this latest revelation is the final straw.

On Monday morning, Abedin released a statement to the press:

“After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband. Anthony and I remain devoted to what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy.”

Abedin is a close aide to Hillary Clinton, and is expected to be a top White House staffer if Democrats keep the White House in November.

This is a breaking news alert and will be updated. Stay tuned to for the latest updates.
