Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West have been keeping a low profile after Kanye was hospitalized last month to rehabilitate from what many have called a mental breakdown.
And while Kim has been by her husband’s side the whole way, it apparently hasn’t kept her from weighing her options when it comes to their now-troubled marriage.
Us Weekly reported that according to sources surrounding the family, Kim is unhappy in the marriage, and will file for divorce—with full custody of their children—when the time is right.
A “friend” of both said to the magazine:

“It will take some time before she can do anything. She doesn’t want to stay married.”
The “friend” added:
“She’s being a supportive wife. She cares about Kanye and feels relieved he’s getting the help he needs but she’s felt trapped for a while.”
Rumors have swirled that Kanye has been living apart from Kim and their two children while he is being treated at an outpatient following his ten-day stay at UCLA Medical Center.
Another source, speaking to People magazine, is claiming that Kim is not only unhappy with the marriage, but worried about her children:

“Kim is being very protective and doesn’t want Kanye around the kids right now. Kanye’s behavior took a huge toll on their marriage. But Kim feels relieved he is getting the help he needs. She thinks this is what it will take to save him — and help their marriage.”
However, another source for People says that the healing process may be longer than they expected, and that despite the schism apparently growing between them, there’s still plenty of love:
“He is receiving outpatient care else with a medical team. Kim still seems concerned but is supportive. They don’t know for how long Kanye will need outpatient care … There are frustrations and problems, like any relationship, but they love each other deeply.”
Sources speculate that Kanye’s breakdown was triggered by the nine-year anniversary of the death of his mother, Donda West—but that he’s also working himself far too hard and is in dire need of a break:
“People in Kanye’s inner circle are hoping the hospital stay has made him realize that he needs to take a step back from work and focus on his personal health and mindset. Kanye loves working, but he loves Kim and his family more. He had way too much on his plate and it came to a point where he couldn’t handle it all, so he just broke. He needs to find a good balance with the two in his life and he’ll work hard at finding that.”
Despite the aftermath of his workaholic tendencies, however, Kendall Jenner told People that Kanye requested recording equipment in his hospital room so that he could continue to work from bed:
“Kanye keeps wanting to work. At the hospital, he requested that recording equipment be brought to the hospital so he can record in his bed. And he has kept asking to see sketches of his fashion lines. He continues to want to work and Kim has to keep telling him to rest.”
This isn’t Kim Kardashian’s first spin on the marriage-go-round. The 35-year-old reality star eloped with Damon Thomas in 2000 when she was just 19. That marriage ended only two years later, allegedly over emotional and physical abuse.
She then married basketball player Kris Humphries in 2011—a marriage which lasted only 72 days.
