Kendall Jenner’s latest Rock The Vote video with Independent Journal Review debuted Tuesday in the inaugural edition of our new daily newsletter, The Political Edit (you can subscribe here).
In it, Jenner poses as Rosie the Riveter, the figure from the World War II-era campaign that encouraged female workers to enter the defense industries. With men off to war, women supported the war effort at home, but today, that image has grown to symbolize strong women who get things done.
Beyoncé, Pink, and Jenner’s mom, Kris, have all paid homage to Rosie.

Kendall did it to encourage young people to register to vote, something she did on her phone when she was 18 at Milan Fashion Week.
