Source: Sean Hannity Is ‘Not Negotiating’ an Exit From Fox News

UPDATE (5/2/17, 9:39 a.m. EST): On Monday night’s edition of “Hannity” on Fox News, Sean Hannity closed the show by issuing a “special thank you to all our friends in the media that were tuning in tonight, maybe for the first time.” He then added that “all the lies you’ve heard about me are not true” and signed off.

A source close to Sean Hannity tells Independent Journal Review that contrary to earlier reports, he is “not negotiating” for a departure from Fox News.

After network co-president Bill Shine had resigned earlier on Monday, it was reported that Hannity wanted out of his contract, which purportedly let him quit if Shine left the company.

IJR’s source echoes a brief statement that Fox issued to Talking Point Memo about the out clause report:

“This is completely untrue.”

The story broke earlier Monday afternoon after New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman reported that Hannity’s contract allows him to quit his show if Shine left the network:
