Due to the government shutdown in New Jersey, some of the state's beaches have been closed this summer.

In a tone-deaf move, Governor Chris Christie was spotted enjoying one of those completely empty, closed beaches with his family this weekend. Christie took advantage of the governor's beach house and afforded himself some sunbathing time on a deserted beach in Island Beach State Park, New Jersey.

Aerial footage captured Christie and his family blissfully taking in some rays on the shorefront of the beach closed to the public. The footage traveled around social media and has been widely mocked. In typical internet fashion, a Photoshop battle occurred, taking the image of the New Jersey governor and placing it in very important scenes from pop culture and history.

Please enjoy.

This is wrong.

Christie responded by saying other beaches are open too.

Chris Christie is not running for re-election. More time for fun in the sun!
