Late night comedian Samantha Bee has often criticized President Donald Trump — and it appears that her producer, Ana Breton, is similarly inclined.
On Saturday, violent protests erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the possible removal of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee — and many attacked the president for not adequately calling out the white supremacists who had taken part in the day's events.
Breton joined the attack on Twitter, attempting to tie Trump to the white supremacists in a more tangible way:
But pretty much everyone noticed the problem with her joke:
Pro-tip: if you're going to call something “the new KKK uniform,” you should probably make sure it's something that isn't hanging in every closet in America — including that of the first black president of the United States.
