As countless stories emerge of everyday people, police officers, and journalists putting themselves in harm's way to save stranded people in Houston, Politico cartoonist Matt Wuerker's latest drawing is drawing heat.
In his latest cartoon, Wuerker drew a man in a Confederate flag shirt praising God as he's being rescued by the Coast Guard. The rescuers are drawn correcting the man, saying it is the federal government who is actually saving him.
Politico has since deleted the tweet:

So far, the death toll due to Hurricane Harvey and the aftermath of massive flooding is currently at 30, according to The New York Times. The number is expected to be higher as the storm makes landfall for the second time.
The Houston Police Department has said it has rescued over 3,500 people that were trapped by the flooding.
Houston Police officer Steve Perez — a 30-year veteran of the force — died after his car got stuck in the high water. His wife didn't want him to go, but he told her: “We've got work to do.”
