Nearly 3,000 Americans were killed on September 11, 2001, in the deadliest terror attack in U.S. history.
Terrorists hijacked two planes and flew them into the Twin Towers in New York City, killing thousands. The radical Islamist attackers hijacked a third plane, United Flight 93, that was brought down in Pennsylvania by brave passengers who fought back against the terrorists. A fourth plane crashed into the Pentagon.
