President Donald Trump held a joint press conference with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) today in the White House Rose Garden.

The president had very stern words for Democrats in Congress, who the president said has broadly “obstructed” the Trump administration's agenda. When asked if the president could ever see a bipartisan “relationship” with congressional Democrats, Trump said, “If we don’t, we don’t.”

Trump went on to say he won many Democratic-leaning states in 2016.

When asked if he can “work” with Democrats, Trump demurred and said he'll answer once he's re-elected:

“Well, we're going to let you know that ... I would like to give you that answer in about seven years from now. Is that OK? Meaning one plus seven.”

Trump went on to say “I hope to be able to,” before saying again that Democrats “are doing nothing but obstructing” right now.
