The day after committing the deadliest terrorist attack in New York City since Sept. 11, 2001, suspect Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov is reportedly telling police that he is delighted with his actions.

According to police, the 29-year-old, who came to the United States from Uzbekistan in 2010, intentionally drove a Home Depot rental truck down a bike lane in the Tribeca area of Manhattan. He managed to kill eight people and wound at least a dozen more before police shot him in the abdomen.

CBS News reported Saipov is “pleased” with his attack and has been bragging about it since being in police custody. He also wrote on at least 10 pieces of paper praising ISIS.

CNN reported New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo revealed it appears Saipov was radicalized after he immigrated to the United States.

“The evidence shows — and again, it's only several hours, and the investigation is ongoing — but that after he came to the United States is when he started to become informed about ISIS and radical Islamic tactics,” Cuomo said.

“We have no evidence yet of associations or a continuing plot or associated plots, and our only evidence to date is that this was an isolated incident that he himself performed,” he added.
