Walmart has made some controversial decisions with its clothing recently, as it came under fire for selling a shirt that read, “Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required.”
The shirt was being sold on Walmart's website, with Teespring as the third-party seller. After receiving criticism, Walmart removed it from its online store Thursday, and its spokesperson said it “clearly violates our policy,” according to NPR.
We are pleased to report that within a few hours of RTDNA alerting Amazon that “Rope. Tree. Journalist. SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED” apparel was for sale on https://t.co/sbj0oTL6nj, the company has removed the items from its website. pic.twitter.com/kEib7kt99I

Again, our photographer took this in Minnesota. I had the location wrong the first time. Apologies. pic.twitter.com/OwuCt7WAUr

The shirt has opened up a can of worms, as other questionable shirts have been discovered. Over a dozen shirts, which are all still on sale on Walmart's site, promote the recently classified “domestic terrorist violence” group Antifa. Some of the shirts read, “Antifa forever,” “proud to be Antifa,” and “we are Antifa.”
One of the item's descriptions reads:
Enjoy this Proud To Be Antifa Capital Letters Black Font Men's White Sweatshirt. Made in Mexico of 100% COTTON for all-day comfort and features a Proud To Be Antifa Capital Letters Black Font graphic on the front. A ribbed crew neck and a straight hem complete the Long Sleeve Sweatshirt, which is available in color White. This ' PROUD TO BE ANTIFA' black font sweatshirt will express yourself inside the opposition to the ideology, organizations, governments and people from the far right (fascism). Just remember to keep creating a better world
Isn't it strange how people known for protesting against a capitalist society have no problem taking full advantage of it?
