John McCain Discusses Arming Ukrainians In Battle With Russian Separatists

It's no secret the Democrats — pretty much across the board — were not in favor of the tax reform bill that passed the Senate in the early hours of Saturday.

Ignoring similarities between that bill's passage and the procedures implemented by their own party to pass the Affordable Care Act in March 2010, they lambasted the contents of the bill and the sequence of events that led to its passing.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who has vocally opposed a number of measures championed by the Trump administration and was considered one of the possible “nays,” has taken a beating on Twitter for opting to vote “yes” on tax reform:

But one of the loudest voices defending McCain was a bit of a shock. Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's “Morning Joe” and recent Republican ex-pat, dove in — defending the Arizona senator despite not agreeing with his position:

Scarborough himself took a fair amount of heat for defending McCain, but he stood his ground.
