The crass soullessness of Donald Trump's response to Hurricane Harvey reached a stomach-churning apex on Tuesday, as he flew into the region to meet with local officials, marvel at the huge “turnout,” and feed propaganda images of the proceedings to the press.
In addition to failing to mention or meet any victims of Hurricane Harvey, Trump made sure to have his press shop put out photos of his Texas trip, all of which prominently featured the $40 “USA” hats that are for sale on his campaign website:
First Lady Melania Trump was also pictured wearing a black-and-white “FLOTUS” hat that isn't yet available on the campaign site. Perhaps this is a soft rollout or test marketing:
In all, the White House put out six photographs from Tuesday's trip, all of which featured the hats, and none of which featured Trump interacting with flood victims or water that didn't come in a bottle:
This is the third set of photos that the Trump White House has released during the hurricane, all of which featured the Trump campaign hats.
