UPDATE [7/18/17, 9:31 a.m. ET]:

President Trump tweeted another pair of statements later Tuesday morning:

On Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump tweeted twice to further express his frustration with the erosion of votes necessary to pass the Republicans’ health bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (colloquially “Obamacare”) in the Senate:

Trump has generally expressed the sentiment that the Democrats should have supported the efforts to repeal and replace their own Affordable Care Act, although he has been vague as to why. The Republican holdouts have expressed concerns over the number of Americans who would lose coverage under the bill, including many on Medicaid.

With regard to the second tweet, Trump had tweeted similar but functionally different sentiments on Monday night:

Both houses passed a repeal in 2015, only to have it vetoed by then-President Barack Obama, which the Republicans did not have enough votes to override.
