During his promised news conference on Wednesday, President-elect Donald Trump told reporters one of the first things he’ll do is a huge favor to the Democrats.
But first, he declared what he’s said many times before on the campaign stump:
“Obamacare is a complete and total disaster.”

He told reporters that as soon as Georgia representative Tom Price is approved as his Health and Human Services Secretary, he will get rid of Obamacare before it implodes in 2017 and before the Democrats “come begging” him to get them out of a “catastrophe”:
“’17 is going to be the bad year. It’s going to be catastrophic. Frankly, we could sit back — and it was a thought from a political standpoint, but it wouldn’t be fair to the people — we could wait and watch and criticize. And we could be a Chuck Schumer and sit back and criticize it. And people would come they [Democrats] would come begging to us, ‘Please we have to do something about Obamacare.”
Then Trump said something that one doesn’t often hear someone in public say:
“We don’t want to own it. We don’t want to own it politically. So the easiest thing would be let it implode in ’17 and, believe me, we would get pretty much whatever we wanted but it would take long time [to fix].”
He promised that when Tom Price is approved by the Senate to the HHS cabinet position he’ll pull a huge repeal and replace switcheroo:
“We’re going to be submitting, as soon as our secretary’s approved, almost simultaneously, shortly thereafter, a plan. It will be repeal and replace. It will be essentially simultaneously. It will be various segments, you understand, but will mostly likely be on the same day or the same week, could be the same hour.
Obamacare is the Democrats’ problem. We are going to take the problem off the shelves for them. We’re doing them a tremendous service by doing it. We could sit back and let them hang with it. We are doing the Democrats a great service.”
At his news conference, President-elect Trump lashed out at the media over a salacious ‘sexcapades’ report in an online news website that he dismissed as “fake news.” His representative also outlined a plan whereby overseas Trump hotels profits will be given to the U.S. Treasury.
