Trump Lawyers Want to Stop Stormy Daniels’ ’60 Minutes’ Interview From Airing: Report

President Donald Trump’s legal team is considering legal action to prevent a “60 Minutes” interview with Stephanie Clifford, the adult film star who allegedly had an affair with Trump in 2006, from ever airing, BuzzFeed News reported Sunday.

“We understand from well-placed sources they are preparing to file for a legal injunction to prevent it from airing,” a source told the news agency.

The interview with Clifford, who often goes by the name Stormy Daniels, was announced by her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, on Twitter. Avenatti also shared the BuzzFeed report on Twitter:

According to The Hill, a source said that Daniels’ interview will not air this Sunday but at an unspecified date in the future.

The president’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, referred BuzzFeed’s questions to his own attorney, Larry Rosen, who he said was the attorney who was “handling this matter” on his behalf.

This is reportedly not Cohen’s first attempt to keep Daniels quiet about the details of her rumored affair with Trump. In 2016, Cohen allegedly paid Clifford $130,000 in return for silence about the 2006 relationship.

Last week, Daniels filed a lawsuit against President Trump in the hopes of getting the nondisclosure agreement she signed when receiving the cash from Cohen removed because, among other things, Trump did not sign the agreement himself.

If she were to win her case against the president, Daniels could be legally cleared to discuss the details of the alleged affair between she and President Trump.
