Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles is not a place you probably want to find yourself during the middle of the night. With one of the largest homeless populations in the U.S. - and a slew of gangs and drugs lurking on every corner - it's not exactly a safe place.
But thanks to a daring film crew called the Skyecam Drone Crew who are making a documentary about Skid Row, we're now able to see the streets first-hand as they fly their drone around the area.
At the end of the video, the drone is nearly confiscated by a group of men. All the while, you can hear the voice of a police officer who works around Skid Row talking about its dangers.
But there's some hope:
Groups like the Weingart Center for the Homeless, SRO Housing Corporation and Union Rescue Mission are trying to improve the lives of impoverished residents of Skid Row. There are plenty of ways to get involved.
