Ricardo Medina Jr., known for his role in Power Rangers Samurai as the Red Ranger, has been arrested for murder. The children's television star allegedly stabbed his roommate to death with a sword on Saturday.
An Advisory Notice from Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department provided details:
“The victim was identified as Joshua Sutter, a 36-year-old male, who lived at the location with the suspect, identified as Ricardo Medina, also a 36-year-old male.”
"...the victim and the suspect became involved in an argument, which turned into a physical altercation. Suspect Medina retreated to his bedroom with his girlfriend, but Victim Sutter followed them and forced the door open. Suspect Medina stabbed Victim Sutter once in the abdomen with a sword kept next to the bedroom door.
Medina grabbed his samurai sword, which was nearby and stabbed Sutter in the stomach. Medina called 911 and police responded to the Palmdale, California, residence. Sutter was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Friends and co-workers had trouble believing the story. Jason Faunt, a fellow Power Rangers actor (Red Time Force Ranger), knew Medina well. Faunt said:
“You're just shocked by it cause you think he's not capable of that. He seems too gentle of a person to be that way.”
Medina was arrested for murder. His bail has been set for $1 million.
