In a head to head election, Donald J. Trump is the only top GOP candidate that would lose against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Tuesday.
The poll measured potential match ups between Republicans and Clinton in order to gauge which candidate would fair best in the general election.
The poll found that Trump loses to Clinton by an eight-point margin with 44% to Clinton's 52.
Meanwhile, the other top tier Republican candidates are able to beat Clinton in the latest poll results such as Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who beats Clinton 50% to 47%.
In addition, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) narrowly edges out Clinton 49% to 48%.
While Trump is the leading GOP candidate with the current stronghold on delegates and overall support inside the confines of the Republican Party's primary voters, it appears both Rubio and Cruz are best-suited to win in the general election, at least according to the polls.
