After a special education teacher in Mississippi was caught dragging one of her special-needs students by the hair on a gym floor last month, she was quickly fired.
But as WREG News reports, the punishment for Linda Winters-Johnson didn't stop there.
The former Greenville teacher was indicted Monday on a misdemeanor charge of “abusing a vulnerable person,” an offense punishable with a fine of $1,000 and up to a year behind bars.
A second video of the incident also circulated online, which appears to show Winters-Johnson hitting the same student on the head with a cup:
School officials are also trying to strip the disgraced educator of her teaching license, according to the New York Daily News.
Winters-Johnson's arraignment is set for December 13th.
