Fans champing at the bit for Justin Bieber to return to Instagram are going to have a wait on their hands.

And if you ask the pop idol himself, it's the Devil's fault.

During a concert on Tuesday, Bieber asked the screaming legions of fans in the audience if he should come back to the social media app. The answer from the crowd was a resounding yes, but Bieber was quick to shoot the idea down, saying from the stage:

“I don't wanna get my Instagram back. I think Instagram is for the Devil.”

As the crowd laughed, Bieber continued.....leaving it uncertain how much he was kidding about the whole thing:

“Nah, I don't want to get my Instagram back...I'm sure...I think hell is Instagram. I'm 90 percent sure. We get sent to hell, we get like locked in the Instagram server like I'm stuck in the DMs.”

Since the concert was the last one for his recent European tour, he joked about how he was going to spend his vacation time, teasing that he'd maybe lie by the pool and “take Instagram pictures and not upload them.”

The “Love Yourself” singer officially shut down his Instagram account in August after fans starting personally attacking his then-girlfriend, Sofia Richie.

Beforehand, Bieber warned his Beliebers on one Instagram post:

“I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand.”

And later:

“If you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like.”

He then deactivated his account, but he did leave his Twitter and Facebook pages up and running.

Even after his romance with Richie ended, however, Bieber didn't reactivate his Instagram account.

And if the Devil has his way, it might be permanent.
