At first, when the woman handed him a package, the delivery service employee thought nothing of it. This was part of his job— he delivered and accepted packages.
But then he took a closer look. On the package, he found a note— “Contact 911.”
As the Franklin County (Missouri) Sheriff's Office explains on their Facebook page, the delivery man quickly sprung into action.
He notified the police who promptly arrived at the residence where the delivery man had received the package.
The female victim answered the door and explained the situation to the officers. Meanwhile, the suspect, 33-year-old James Jordan, refused to cooperate with the authorities.
Worried that the man was armed — and knowing that there was a 3-year-old in the home — the officers alerted the SWAT team, who arrived at the home and arrested Jordan.
Jordan, according to Fox 2 Now, was charged with domestic assault, sodomy, felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The delivery man is being hailed a hero for his actions.
