2017: Nancy Pelosi Says She Can’t Work with ‘President,’ But Forgets Who’s Now in The White House

What year is it? During a press conference on Monday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had something very interesting to say about working with the president.

With nearly thirty years of experience in Congress, it’s understandable that the years might blend together for Pelosi, but this latest gaffe is a bit alarming.

While attempting to speak about an inability to work with the White House, Pelosi made a bit of a slip, saying:

“While it’s only a couple weeks since the inauguration, there’s complete evidence. We’ve seen nothing that we can work, well I can work, with President Bush on and I’m disappointed because I thought that there might be some interest because of what he said in the campaign. Which turns out to be not true, a hoax, and really dangerous to the economic stability of America’s working families.”

President Bush? Pelosi didn’t seem to catch her mistake at all, but the members behind her certainly did. Representative Maxine Waters immediately made a face and turned to her colleague and appeared to question whether she had simply misheard what Pelosi said.

Much like Rep. Waters, former Arkansas Governor and GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee caught on very quickly and had a field day with it:

Breitbart called it a “senior moment,” but maybe it was actually a Freudian slip? Pelosi was never too big of a fan of President Bush, but perhaps the Trump administration has her realizing that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. And in Pelosi’s defense, what’s not to miss?

Looks like Nancy Pelosi might have “misunderestimated” just how much she would miss having President George W. Bush in the White House.
