Over the last 24 hours, President-elect Donald Trump has been engaged in a war of sorts with BuzzFeed over a story they published regarding his alleged ties with Russia.
The tussle mostly unfolded on Twitter — where Trump routinely does battle — but the president-elect also pushed back against the narrative at Wednesday morning's press conference. He called the story “fake news,” “unfounded,” and “despicable.”
Trump then tried to focus the majority of his press conference on the steps he is taking to distance himself from his business in order to eliminate the appearance of conflict of interest. But when it came time for the press to ask questions, things really got interesting...
CNN reporter Jim Acosta stepped up to ask a question, and Trump wasn't having any of it. He repeatedly talked over the reporter, telling them his “organization was terrible,” and that he would not be answering a question for the “fake news organization.”
Trump turned away from the CNN reporter, pointedly shifting the focus to other reporters: “She's trying to ask a question, don't be rude. Don't be rude. No, I'm not going to give you a question. You are fake news.”
