Just six weeks into the Trump administration, Democrats are seeing one of their worst fears realized. But it's not the repeal of Obamacare, the overturning of Roe v. Wade, or the demise of Planned Parenthood.
Throughout the presidential election, there was a fair amount of hand-wringing over what might happen to the fight against climate change if Donald Trump were to be elected:
Even Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton called it “one of the most important issues of the election”:
And when the “unthinkable” happened, there was even more:
But what really brought the issue to a head was a conversation on CNBC with newly minted EPA Chief Scott Pruitt, who let a major spoiler slip during the brief interview:
Twitter was immediately rife with concern:
Pruitt wasn't totally without support:
But one response resorted to gallows humor, summing up what a lot of climate change believers seemed to be saying: “Human civilzation had a good run...”
