It's no secret that former Denver Broncos Quarterback John Elway is a die hard fan of his city:
Not only did Elway play for the Broncos for 16 years of his career, leading them to two Superbowl wins before retiring, but after he left the league he became the team's vice president of football operations and general manager.
Now, Elway has taken his Denver fandom to a political level.
In the letter, Elway wrote:
A native of Colorado, Neil has demonstrated tremendous intelligence, character and fairness while serving for more than a decade on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
His credentials, integrity and sound moral compass are major reasons why he’s already received so much bipartisan support for his nomination.
Neil is a big Denver Broncos fan, and I can tell you that I’m a big fan of his.
The was dated Monday, March 20 — the same day Gorsuch appeared before the committee for confirmation to fill the seat left open after Justice Antonin Scalia's death in February of last year.
With the note coming from a Broncos letterhead, it is unclear as to whether this was just Elway's personal views or if it's an endorsement from the team as a whole.
