Three Islamic State terrorists were brutally killed near the Iraqi city of Kirkuk — but not at the hands of the U.S. military. Rather, a pack of wild boars raided their location and mauled the ISIS militants to death, Kurdish fighters told the Telegraph.
Refugees reportedly found the terrorists' bodies while fleeing ISIS in a nearby area.
In response, ISIS fighters apparently went on a “killing spree of wild boars in the area.”
“Three fighters from ISIL were near the Peshmerga checkpoint in al-Rashad. They met some feral boars and the boars killed the three fighters,” a Kurdish official told the Telegraph.
It is forbidden in the religion of Islam to eat pork or even touch their dead carcasses. Pigs are considered to be impure animals, according to the Quran.
However, the official also said it's possible the dead fighters were actually trying to defect from ISIS, as their bodies were found near a Kurdish checkpoint and they may have been unarmed.
