With actress Melissa McCarthy hosting “Saturday Night Live” on Saturday — an episode airing live across the country, without the normal west coast delay — it's no surprise that she will reprise her role as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
On Friday, though, the world got a taste of what McCarthy and the “SNL” team have planned.
A signature part of the Spicer sketches has been that his podium in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room is on wheels, which grew out of McCarthy as Spicer attacking journalists with the podium in her first appearance. On Friday morning, she was spotted in full Spicer makeup and costume riding the podium through New York City.
It appears that there may be some kind of CNN tie-in planned, as McCarthy was riding the podium outside of the network's New York offices, and some of the Twitter videos and photos were posted by CNN employees. One of them was anchor Don Lemon:
