Donald Trump's presidency has popularized a little game called “There's a tweet for that,” as Trump seems to contradict his old self on a daily basis. But Trump White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway may have outdone the boss with a pre-Twitter utterance that really, really hasn't aged well.
At a speech to The Conservative Network in 1995, Conway was apparently visited by the spirit of Kyle Reese, who whispered this in her ear:
“Only in politics could someone called a billionaire convince you, the middle class, that he is one of you.”
As it turns out, she was talking about Ross Perot, but apparently, something changed in the intervening 21 years, and Conway came to believe that a billionaire could fool enough people into believing he was one of them to get elected.
Some things never change, though. Seconds later, Conway grinned from ear to ear as she remembered the failure of Hillary Clinton's universal health care plan.
